We went hiking this last weekend. After all of that rain last week it was a nice break to get out and enjoy the weather. We went to English Point trails. It is at the corner of Lancaster and English Point road in Hayden Lake. This was a great trail for our family. Our youngest is two, the twins are 4 and Abby is 10. They all loved it. The trail was wide and easy to navigate. There are two trail heads. There are one on each side of the road. We went on the red loop. It leaves form the east side of the road, where the parking lot and the bathrooms are. We went on the red loop. We took off on the right side, closer to the bathrooms. Our only issue was that going that way was at the very end there was a long sort of steep up hill. Well my two year old felt as though he needed to be carried up most of the hill. So my recommendation would be to go in the opposite direction and and start from the left. Being that we went soon after the rain stopped there were a few large mud puddles. But there were ways to go around. Over all a great trail for us, and we will go back.
